Fig3_hierarchy_dendrites_vs_receptor_gradient1

DESCRIPTION:

The principal receptor gradient compared against the cortical hierarchy and the tree size and spine count on the basal dendrites of pyramidal cells.

Shown in the MEBRAINS Cytoarchitectonic Maps on the Yerkes19 cortical template.

The cortical hierarchy was originally estimated in Froudist-Walsh et al., Neuron, 2021, based on retrograde tract-tracing data collected by Henry Kennedy and colleagues.

The dendritic tree size and spine count measures were taken from a series of papers by Elston and colleagues, summarised in Elston, 2007.

See the main BALSA page for this study and/or the paper for full references.
